Which NFT marketplace is best

1. OpenSea – Best NFT platform for photographers

OpenSea best nft marketplace for photographers

The first platform on my list of NFT marketplaces for photographers is OpenSea. It is one of the most popular NFT platforms due to its incredible number of items as well as users transacting on the marketplace daily. There are also quite a good number of NFT scams on OpenSea.

OpenSea charges photographers no upfront fees to mint their NFT photographs from various platforms. Although, the photographer has to make a payment of around $100 to list his/her item on the OpenSea marketplace.

Another crucial payment that goes to OpenSea is the transaction fee. OpenSea allows photographers options for selling their digital art and photos, as these can be sold either for a fixed price, in an auction, or the photographer may accept open offers for items.

Photographers would find themselves saving expenses if they mint more NFTs. We call this lazy minting. Regarding the technology and integration possibilities, OpenSea is perhaps the best NFT for photographers. This platform has the Polygon, Ethereum, and Tenzo blockchains and supports ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens.

Curious about what cryptocurrencies you can use for transactions on OpenSea? You can use ETH, WETH, USDC, DAI, and MEME. On OpenSea, you can use the following wallets: MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, TrustWallet, Portis, Fortmatic/Magic, Venly, Authereum, Bitski, Dapper, Kaikas, OperaTouch, Torus, WalletConnect, and WalletLink. 2. Rarible

rarible best nft marketplace for photographers

Rarible is the second-best NFT marketplace for photographers to sell their digital works. Most items you’d find on the Rarible marketplace are of higher quality than what you see in other NFT marketplaces.

Although NFT marketplaces let you sell all kinds of items as NFTs, you’d find more arts and photos on the Rarible platform.

Rarible is pretty similar to OpenSea, but there are differences between OpenSea and Rarible. This marketplace uses the Ethereum blockchain like OpenSea. And like OpenSea, it also supports ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens.

This NFT marketplace has also started to support lazy minting as well. Sellers pay gas fees upfront, unlike in OpenSea. And NFTs can be sold on auctions or at a fixed price. When a transaction is completed, both the buyer and seller have to pay a transaction fee to Rarible.

Finally, regarding the supported tokens, Rarible also supports ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens. Not sure what these are? You can refer to the FAQ section at the bottom of this post to see what these tokens do.

For the cryptocurrencies that Rarible supports, you can use ETH, WETH, RARI (Rarible’s own cryptocurrency) DAI, and ATRI. You can use the following wallets on Rarible: MetaMask, Fortmatic, Rainbow Wallet, and Coinbase.

3. SuperRare

superrare best nft marketplace for photographers

SuperRare is another goldmine when it comes to NFT marketplaces for photographers. SuperRare doesn’t yet have thousands of items like OpenSea and Rarible, but you can be sure of the quality of the products on this NFT marketplace.

Of the top 3 best NFT platforms for photographers on this list, SuperRare is where you see a lot of nudity. So, if you specialize in erotic photography, you’d have no problems selling your photos as NFTs here.

Photographers can sell their NFTs at a fixed price or in an auction. Like OpenSea, the buyers are the ones to pay a transaction fee on the SuperRare NFT marketplace. And this transaction fee is set to 3% of the total amount paid for the item.

SuperRare supports ERC-721 as the token, meaning photographers can create unique products on this platform. ETH is the cryptocurrency you use for transactions on this NFT marketplace, and you can use MetaMask and Fortmatic wallets with SuperRare.

4. Cargo

cargo nft marketplace for photographers

Cargo is a diverse NFT marketplace where users can buy and sell digital art, photographs, tickets, etc. This NFT marketplace has its token called Cargo Gems, and it uses not only the Ethereum blockchain but also Polyon (MATIC).

The tokens supported are ERC-721 and ERC-2309 tokens. On the Cargo NFT marketplace, you can make of the currency known as Cargo Credits. You can buy Cargo Credits using popular cryptos, such as ETH, MATIC, and xDAI.

Cargo supports the popular MetaMask wallet as well as Fortmatic. Finally, as a photographer, you will sell your items here for a fixed price or with an auction.

5. Mintable

Mintable is an inexpensive NFT marketplace for photographers. I said it’s inexpensive because you pay no gas fees, and it supports lazy minting. Mintable does not have as many items as the NFT marketplaces above it on this list, but a majority of the items for sale on Mintable are photographs.

The governance token for the Mintable marketplace is MINT, and users can earn MINT directly from Mintable. If you have used other NFT platforms for photographers, you may find Mintable a bit tricky, but if you’re completely new to the world of NFTs, then it’s easy to get a hang of this platform.

NFTs are sold and purchased on the Mintable platform using ETH as currency, and photographers can sell their NFT by putting it in an auction with a buy it now feature. Mintable uses the Ethereum blockchain and Zilliqa blockchain, and the platform supports the ERC-721 token.

6. Foundation

Foundation is one of my best NFT marketplaces for photography. I like Foundation because of its uniqueness and exclusivity. This platform is built on the Ethereum blockchain, and ETH is the only cryptocurrency you can use on Foundation.

This platform is home to several digital artworks ranging from funny GIFs to professionally designed artworks. In order to mind your photos to NFT on Foundation, you need to have been invited to the marketplace. You get this invite from other users who are already on the platform… but not just any user.

Only users who have made a sale on the Foundation NFT marketplace can send an invite to the photographer to join the platform and mint his or her photos.

When finally on the Foundation platform, you have to pay a minting fee upfront for each item. Your products are sold in a 24-hour auction. This one-day auction begins the moment your item receives the first bid.

One thing I dislike about the Foundation platform is the fees. For primary sales, the fees stand at 15%, whereas secondary fees cost 5% of the sale price.

Can I sell photography as NFT?

You can sell photographs as NFT when you mint them on NFT platforms, such as OpenSea. This post discusses the best marketplaces to sell photographs as NFTs. You don’t have to sell photos alone. NFT platforms are home to videos, memes, artworks, music, etc.

What are ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens used for?

ERC-721 lets sellers create unique NFT items for sale, and ERC-1155 is the token that allows sellers to make additional editions of a specific item for sale on the NFT marketplace.

Is it illegal to screenshot an NFT?

It is not illegal to screenshot an NFT because screenshotting NFTs do not make you have them. Your screenshot is only an image representation of the NFT and not the NFT itself.
